CSU Fullerton Campus’ new restaurant,
Taste of Asia, shall be the first, mobile application ran, food location on
campus!
Our campus currently has a diverse selection of foods and the majority of such restaurants like Panda Express and Togo’s are conveniently located in the Titan Student Union. (see map below)

CSUF website.
Aside from the Gastronome, CSUF also
has a Carl’s Jr. and a quick sandwich shop in Langsdorf Hall. It is safe to say
that variety is not an issue.
So what distinguishes Taste of Asia
from among all the current restaurants?
Simple, its ability to eliminate the
ordering and payment time at the location. With the app, one will just arrive
at the restaurant for pick-up! This convenient new method is perfect for
in-between class meals if you have back-to-back classes.

I think the restaurant app is a really good idea. i don't think that i would ever use it because i never eat on campus, but i could see people eating at your restaurant for that reason alone as long as there is decent enough food.
ReplyDeleteI think the people who dorm or have long breaks would appreciate this restaurant very much.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea to sell food, but what if people order food, and they don't show up to pick up? Then you waste food and money. How do you avoid this situation?
ReplyDeleteTo order food using the mobile app you are going to be required to pay using a debit or credit card so this gives customers the responsibility to pick up their food because they already paid for it.
DeleteGreat question Jenny and we do have to take into consideration those who in fact are not going to pick up their food.
Thank you!
Where is the restaurant going to be placed on campus? There doesn't seem to be any room really. One of the important points of the marketing mix is place/distribution. For a new restaurant, it is important to have it in a convenient place for people to see it. For me, I don't really know what goes on on campus most the time, so good publicity and placement are key.
ReplyDeleteYes you are correct Sarah, the place/distribution of any business is the most important. Therefore, we have decided to facilitate near Mihaylo College because it is the farthest from the TSU and whose nearest in-campus restaurant is Carl's Jr and the little sandwich shop in Langsdorf Hall.
DeleteSorry I can not give you a precise location because we are still working on an agreement with the campus.

Hey Group
What is the price that you offer for a single meal?
Panda Express restaurant is good, but the price is quite high?
How can you guys low the price?
The Panda Express restaurant is inside the build and the property CSUF and if it’s the property of CUSF then they should give a tax deduction card that run the CSUF system and help the student to purchase that food by a low price, because we are students for CSUF.
This type of assistance is what Carl’s Jr. Restaurant and the one who is inside the campus of CSUF. When you order a meal and the price is high because of taxes and which is included, then what you do to lower it down is you slide your titan card and delete the taxes on the price of the food what you order. This should be the same method with Panda Express.
Okay,
Jose
Hey Jose, as a competitor for Asian food we have taken into account the prices that Panda Express currently charges for its meals. Our estimated prices per meal are around $6, but keep in mind that our food entrees will be authentic Asian cuisines and not fast food as Panda Express.
DeleteYou brought up a great point concerning CSUF students being privileged with lower prices and we will definitely take this into consideration.
Thank you for your input and once we come to an agreement with prices, we will let you know.
It's a good location and distinguishes analyze. I really hope your marketing plan can be true. I want to see your restaurant in CSUF soon!
